One Last Bout at Holmdel
The State Meet of Champions began with rain as the top 20 teams and individual qualifiers raced toward the first slope and ended in the mud (all told, perfect conditions for XC) as finishers tilted down the final straight. And with that the 2004 XC Season has come to a close. Results from the MoC can be found here.

The Countdown...
As the countdown to the Meet of Champions comes near its close the Pirates make ready. The Final XC Bus of the Season departs from the KAC at 8:00 AM  Sharp. The Last Gun goes of at 10:00 AM in Holmdel Park, it will signal the start of the Boys All Group Meet of Champions and the drama should only begin there, the field is stacked on both the individual and team levels and as the hours wane the Pirates prepare to make the final charge across the "kill zone" of Holmdel's last stretch...

Silver in the 11th Hour
The Pirate's situation looked dire ten minutes before heading to the line for the Parochial A State Meet. The 6th man, Pat Muldoon had dropped out on illness and the team's 1st man Brian Trembley was feeling sick enough to hold out till the MoC. It looked as though it might be a tight race to claim the team Bronze and advance to the MoC but Trembley stepped up and ran to a 4th place finish leading the battered squad to edge out Pope John by 2 points for the Silver. CBA, SHP and PJXXIII will move on to the Meet of Champions from the Parochial A Group. Full Results can be found here.

Preparing for the State's...
On Saturday (11/13) The XC team will compete in the NJSIAA Parochial A State Championship Meet at Holmdel Park. The Start time is set for 1:45 PM. Some of the Top Teams in the State run in the Parochial A section including #1 CBA and #11 Pope John.  As usual the event has quite and air about it and spectators are incouraged to parktake. The Bus leaves from the KAC @ 11:30 PM on Saturday.

CTC Prize Running
Brian Trembley captures the gold at the Catholic Track Conference Championship Meet Sunday as the Pirates knock Pope John away and give a startling chase to #1 in NJ CBA. The results from the JV Race are here and the Freshmen here.

Iron Division Conference Champions!
The Pirates raced to victory in the IHC Iron Division Championship, defending the title for the second straight year.
